Title: Where We'll Always Be Just You and I
Rating: G
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Harry/Hermione (implied), Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione
Summary: Sometimes they wonder.

They share moments in winter.Collapse )

Title: Codes and Keys
Rating: PG-13 (just to be safe)
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing(s): Harry/Hermione (affair!), Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione
A/N: This is a companion piece to "Where we'll always be just you and I" and came about thanks to musicffyou who left a plot bunny in the comments for the orginal fic. Also, this is completely unbeta'd so please be kind if you review.
Summary: Ginny thinks of it as being like the state of Shrodinger's cat - the day is a box and whatever happens between Harry and Hermione could be anything and nothing at all as long as she doesn't look.

I am now obsessed with this song (although it's still second to Regina Spektor's "Après Moi").

1. Be healthier (eat better/exercise more)
2. Cut back on my procrastination
3. And subsequently, actually finish writing one of my novels.

1. A flock of ravens is called and unkindness. (Crows now seem more bad ass.)

2. Anatidaephobia is the fear that out there, somewhere, a duck is staring at you. (My fear of water no longer seems irrational.)

3. The dutch word for "father" is "vader". (I see what you did there, Mr. George Lucas.)

4. The term "marriage" is derived from the Latin mas meaning "male" or "masculine". Meanwhile, the word "wife" is derived from the Proto-Indo-European root ghwibh meaning "shame". (A part of me is not surprised.)

5. Thomas Edison was afraid of the dark.

I was supposed to:
1. Wake up at 10AM
2. Eat a decent breakfast
3. Work on my novel
4. Avoid my grandma

Instead I:
1. Woke up at 11AM
2. Ate Hobnobs for breakfast.
3. re-installed iTunes on my computer, re-organized my playlists, and then got distracted my MLIA.
4. Avoided my grandma. (this is the one thing I will never fail to do again.)

I believe that the History Channel is on its way to redemption in the coming year. This past fall has been nothing but Nostradamus, 2012, doomsday scenarios, and other subjects of psuedohistory/science. Now, I gravitate towards just about anything involving the paranormal but you can only take so much programing grounded in speculation. Besides, there's already a place for that - SciFi Syfy Channel.

Programs I'm looking forward to on History:
America: The Story of US
People Speak

Stuff I'd like to see more of:
Ancients Behaving Badly
Clash of the Gods
(although they should focus on actual mythology and not Lord of the Rings)
Ancient Discoveries

Also, WWII in HD was incredible. It, at times, brought me to tears. This is what war looks like.

1. Reading Rainbow was canceled in Augsust. *waves goodbye to another piece of childhood*

2. Cinderella was originally written in Western China circa 850 CE. The fairy godmother was a 10 foot long fish and her step-mother and step-sister were killed by flying stones.

3. It has taking me over ten years to finish reading Moby Dick. (I'm stuck on the chapter where he's talking about the whale as a dish.)

4. There's a difference between the hardcover and paperback copies of Hannibal. ( I may have gotten a little TOO excited when I found out.)

5. My nieces don't know who Kermit the Frog is. This will be remedied on Wednesday.
